Campus traditions

Every college student needs a stuffed animal! The Build-A-Critter event is open to all students to build their own stuffed animal to help them get through the rest of the semester. This popular event is a student favorite and attracts a line hours before it starts, but students use their time in line to play games, study, work on homework, or catch up with each other.

Homecoming is held the fourth week of September every year and is a time to celebrate our MMU pride! Campus is covered in blue and gold while events are hosted each day of the week. Some signature homecoming events include the pep rally and late night breakfast, student organization and athletics competitions, glow night, and more!

Stress Buster Week happens each semester during the week before finals. During this stressful time, Student Engagement and many of our student organizations host fun activities to help students de-stress. Previous stress buster events have included a petting zoo; massages and facials; candy bar, donut, and coffee giveaways; wellness and de-stress goodie bags; and more!

The glamor is turned up as the University Center is transformed into a mini-Vegas, with gaming tables and students and staff decked out in their most outrageous outfits. A lucky few opt for the joy of a quick Vegas-style wedding while others find out how low they can go!

The Welcome Back Bash is a time for all new and returning students to come together and kick off the beginning of a new school year! Expect an amazing band, good food, inflatables, tie-dye, s’mores at the firepit, a dunk tank, and more.
