Admitted Students

Congratulations on being admitted to Mount Mercy University! We're thrilled you're joining the Mustang family!

First-Year Students: Next Steps

  • Submit your enrollment deposit. $200 saves your spot in the incoming class. If submitting the deposit is a concern, you can fill out the "Intent to Enroll" form on your student portal which will defer the deposit.
  • Complete your housing application. There is no separate housing deposit, but you will need to fill out a form noting any preferences and lifestyle questions. If you plan to live off-campus with a parent or legal guardian (within 30 miles of Mount Mercy), you need to complete the housing exemption application and indicate that you will be living off-campus. You will be notified by University Housing if your exemption has been approved.

  • File the FAFSA. To apply for state and federal aid (grants and loans), you'll want to
submit the free FAFSA after it opens on December 1, 2024. Mount Mercy’s FAFSA Code is 001880. Contact our Financial Aid Office at 319-368-6467 with any questions.

  • Sign up for Registration. You'll meet your classmates, your advisor, and register for classes. You must submit your intent to enroll form or your enrollment deposit prior to Registration. More information will be available through your portal in the spring.

  • Accept your financial aid award online. Be sure to sign and return your financial aid award as soon as you know you're attending Mount Mercy. This step is important so we know you've accepted your aid. Sometimes other documents are also required.

  • Send us your final transcripts. Please request final high school transcripts, AP exams, and any college coursework prior to attending Registration, if possible. This is required by July 1 at the latest.

  • Connect with your classmates. Join Mount Mercy’s Class of 2028 Admitted Group on ZeeMee. To join, search for ZeeMee wherever you download your apps and connect with your future classmates.
